“Jessica Chen is a Big Fat Liar” is A coming of age drama about lying teenage girls, predatory 18-year-old boys, and not knowing you’re a lesbian yet.
When naive high school freshman Abbie Davis goes to a party and participates in a game of “Never Have I ever”, she feels like everyone in her school has had sex except for her. Senior Jessica Chen is especially sexually experienced, as well as sexy, confident, kind… Abbie would do anything to get close to and impress Jessica. When the super-cool senior Joey takes an interest in her after meeting her at the party, she sees it as her chance to be on the same level as girls like Jessica and not feel like such a kid around them – She goes through with it and loses her virginity, only to find out the that Jessica and other girls were lying: they’re all virgins who lie to seem sexier and cooler. To make matters worse, Joey completely ghosted her after sex.
