A guy named Guilin sends a “I like you” WeChat message to a girl named Xiaofang at the office. Immediately after, he gets a call from his mother asking for money for his father’s medical bills, draining his bank account. His manager then forces him to work overtime all year, taking away his free time. As a colleague’s child throws a tantrum and another couple argues over money, Guilin hesitates to withdraw the message, overthinking what he can truly offer. When he finally tries to retract it, the two-minute withdrawal window has passed. Xiaofang sees the message and jumps up from her desk.
