Mahé, 20, reunites with Cristèle, her childhood love, five years after Cristèle’s mysterious disappearance, which followed the unresolved murder of their best friend. During those years, Mahé faced judgment alone over her sexuality and her close bond with their murdered friend. Initially uneasy, Cristèle explains that her father sent her away for safety, but eventually, in tears, she admits he placed her in a religious boarding school to “cure” her homosexuality. Tensions rise when Cristèle’s father arrives unexpectedly. Hidden under the bed, Mahé is horrified to discover clues linking him to their friend’s disappearance, and as the confrontation between father and daughter escalates, she realizes her own life may be in danger.
