Data Deity presents a world in which algorithms are our gods; managing the ebb and flow of economies and resources while giving life through the global orchestration of weather.

Humankind’s inherent desire to extend control over the environment through mythology is the subject of Data Deity’s film. It draws a parallel between the cultures that place their belief in mythology versus those that place their belief in information. Humankind’s attempts throughout time to control the weather parallel humanity’s ongoing struggle to control life itself.
