The video for Time Slips Away was directed by Charlie Mysak and features emerging dance star Leal Zielinska. It was shot mostly on film, across two freezing cold days in January: one on an abandoned military base in Fort Monmouth NJ, and the other in a modern apartment in Brooklyn.
At its surface, it’s about a girl lost in the corridors of her imagination, creating her own dream world to dance in. At its heart, it’s about the feelings of disconnection and isolation in the Instagram age. Everything appears sunny, when in reality many are scrolling from the dark of their bedrooms.
The project is part of a forthcoming album called Overloaded, which is inspired these strange, hyper-connected yet spiritually disconnected times we live in.
