Synopsis

After the sudden loss of his best friend, Arif returns to college carrying a promise he refuses to break. Every morning, he leaves the seat beside him empty, despite the curiosity and confusion of his classmates. To everyone else, it is just an empty chair. To Arif, it is a place where friendship still lives.
As a college Memory Day approaches, a new student named Rafi becomes determined to uncover the story behind the mysterious empty seat. Through memories, old photographs, and heartfelt conversations, the truth about Arif and his late best friend, Niloy, gradually comes to light.
When Arif finally shares the reason behind the empty chair, the entire college is deeply moved. His journey through grief, guilt, and healing inspires those around him to understand that love and friendship do not end with loss.
In the end, Arif realizes that honoring someone’s memory is not about holding on to an empty seat forever, but about carrying their kindness, dreams, and values into the future.
The Empty Chair is an emotional coming-of-age drama about friendship, loss, healing, and the enduring power of memories that continue to shape our lives long after the people we love are gone.
