This short film focuses on the protagonist, Ruirui, telling the story of her life intertwined with her younger brother and mother—a family in which the father has been absent for an extended period. At the beginning of the story, while watching an animated film, Ruirui returns to her room to retrieve her headphones and happens to overhear her mother angrily reacting to her brother’s cut-off nails caused by his grandmother. However, despite facing a similar situation herself, Ruirui’s emotions are consistently ignored by her mother. Later, in a moment of desperation, Ruirui takes her brother’s headphones, only to be met with an unjustified scolding from her mother. After the argument, her mother flips through an old photo album and suddenly realizes the long-standing neglect she has shown Ruirui. She then prepares breakfast and delivers new headphones to her, hoping to make up for the love that had been overlooked.
