Over the last year and a half, Jewish women have found themselves at the centre of a painful reckoning – grappling with fear, erasure, misrepresentation, and silence in the face of increasing anti-Semitic rhetoric and violence. This 40 minute short film interweaves a variety of stories from Toronto Jewish women, each spotlighting a different aspect of the experience of being a Jewish woman after Oct 7th 2023. These are true stories submitted by the individuals filmed. Anat Kriger, an Israeli Canadian Music Theatre performer, Hope Heartbreaker, an Inuit Israeli Burlesque performer, Jennifer Schneider, a Peruvian Canadian University of Toronto Student and Hailey Gardiner, a Canadian creator and entrepreneur that found October 7th 2023 to be the catalyst towards learning about her background. All have different stories, all relative in the way of isolation, alienation, fear, invalidation and discrimination. Stories that need to be heard when hate is winning in society.
