2025 Annual Awards Interviews: Luca Pizzoleo, Director of “O.C.D.”

Join host Olivia Lyle (@olivialyle1) for an exclusive interview with Luca Pizzoleo, the award-winning filmmaker behind O.C.D., featured as a guest film in the non-competitive section of the IndieX Film Fest 2025 Annual Awards. Recorded by Kyle Reed (@thekylereed) at Regal LA Live, Los Angeles, the conversation dives into the darkly comic and apocalyptic mind of this promising young director.

O.C.D. stars Raz Fritz and Steven Ogg and follows Owen, a neurotic delivery driver who wrestles with his obsessive-compulsive disorder at a local convenience store, just as his TikToker girlfriend sets the stage for an exposure therapy dinner date. When she helps him resist his compulsions, the result is more than emotional fallout—it’s the end of the world.

Pizzoleo, known for viral hits like In the Valley of the Moon (over 10 million views across social platforms) and the dark comedy The Tragic Death of a Frenchman, brings his signature blend of humor, anxiety, and existential dread to this unique short. His work has been recognized in publications including Basic Magazine and The New York Times.

Watch the interview and trailer below for insight into Luca’s creative process, his take on mental health in cinema, and what inspired the unexpected apocalypse of O.C.D.
