Our Daisy tells the story of a teenage girl who lost her life to the 1918 Influenza Pandemic.
A working-class girl from a troubled home, Daisy left behind few archival traces. These offer more questions than answers. Our film meditates on the memory and legacy of pandemics and honors stories like Daisy’s, which so often fall through the cracks of history.
Few memorials commemorate those who died of diseases like smallpox, yellow fever, cholera, and the 1918 Influenza. By disrupting the silence that has defined Daisy’s story for the past hundred years, Our Daisy works to reimagine our relationship with America’s “forgotten pandemic” in the wake of COVID-19.
