Plausible Deniability: The Archbishop

With the Church under fire in the media, Archbishop Muntz (Darren Gilshenan) and his less-than-trusty social media manager (Hannah Fredericksen), embark on a charm offensive to win the hearts and minds of everyday Australian’s by appearing in a documentary three kids are making about homelessness. But when the kids query Church attitudes towards poverty and their large under-utilised land holding, the Archbishop struggles to distract them with stories of a deity, a donkey and a rogue Santa, as he fumbles his way through a new re-telling of the story of Christmas.
This is a single episode from a seven-part web series. It’s a dark short-form comedy series about the politics of social change and what happens when three kids from the western suburbs face off against a who’s who of Australian ‘thought leaders’ as part of a homelessness documentary they’re making at their school.
7 x 11min episodes.

Directed by Victoria Thaine (Australia)
