Bassem, a sociable and lively young man, lives with his mother and grandfather. Every day after work, Bassem and his friends have some drinks at an outdoor pub. Bassem has developed some ticks which become more and more apparent with the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, in an attempt to mentally ensure his family is safe and healthy. Lockdown traps Bassem at home and boredom mixed with his obsessive thoughts take over. Bassem has a vivid nightmare in which he transmits coronavirus to his grandfather, thus shedding light on what he dreads most. As a result, Bassem’s ticks turn into severe compulsions and rituals which he struggles to complete in hopes of protecting his family, who do not understand what he is doing and instead worry about social and cultural expectations.
